When I said that my “12 Songs” series was unranked, it was with an asterisk because I have zero doubt about my album of the year—with separation from everything else I’ve heard.
For a change, this is by consensus. Pretty much all the critics agree. I was getting ready to fight them, like I usually do, but I didn’t have to this time, and it almost makes me wonder if I'm missing something.
I have so much to say about Fiona’s mind-blowing album, Fetch the Bolt Cutters, that I am not even going to try today. If I had to make only recommendation from this series, it would be to pay attention to it. Almost every song is fantastic. I'm in the mood for this one today.
